It has a Max Supply of 510,000,000 tokens to be distributed mostly through farming with LP tokens on the Alienbase DEX. Emission is expected to last for 3 years after TGE on August 8, 2023, after which the platform should become self-sustainable. ![](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F2071118767-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252FsTezfw4MnbiXPiGDX138%252Fuploads%252Fld39ZBae5FHT1nl8aeIt%252F2023-10-05-chart-02.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D470a2ade-7eb2-441c-988b-77310f62e05a&width=768&dpr=3&quality=100&sign=3eebf9a8&sv=2) **Emission Schedule** The initial design assumed an initial heavy distribution period that would see 22.5% of the supply minted in the first three months. The speed of emission would be halved after the first three months, and continue to do so every 9 months until August 2026. Thus, the rewardsPerSecond parameter of ALB emission would scale as follows: ALB Per Second Trigger Month 15 August 2023 7.5 November 2023 3.75 August 2024 1.875 May 2025 0.9375 February 2026 The plan assumed an initial circulating supply of 25 million ALB, which due to early sniper and community interest became impossible to add to the fair launch liquidity pool. After three weeks of the initial distribution schedule, the community and team have agreed to reduce emission by 46% to 4% total supply every month, or 8 ALB per second: [https://snapshot.org/#/alienbase-dex.eth/proposal/0x56c418fd7f7fd365b0beba44389807941e3150fb376179ac758fb497f04a999barrow-up-right](https://snapshot.org/#/alienbase-dex.eth/proposal/0x56c418fd7f7fd365b0beba44389807941e3150fb376179ac758fb497f04a999b) The future schedule remains unchanged for now, with a planned reduction to 7.5 ALB per second in November. The total minted after 36 months will be approximately 75.3% of the total supply. Thus after three years the total supply will be as follows: Initial Mint 5.1% Farming 75.3% **Total** **80.4%** The remaining 19.6% of the supply can be theoretically minted through a DAO decision should the need arise. The supply schedule can be changed pending DAO decision, including steeper reductions of the farming rewards if the protocol reaches sustainability before the expected time frame. The team currently **cannot mint tokens** without going through a total 14 day time lock (farming emissions parameters are likewise timelocked for 7 days). **Initial Supply Timelock & Token Distribution** The initial 25 million tokens (~5% of the total supply) that could not be placed in liquidity were directed to a timelock contract as a temporary measure. The timelock transactions are listed below: * [https://basescan.org/tx/0x44d3753e8e0e104f4751665af885c77fc8ee338abd377496cb33b1a35b10aca9arrow-up-right](https://basescan.org/tx/0x44d3753e8e0e104f4751665af885c77fc8ee338abd377496cb33b1a35b10aca9) * [https://basescan.org/tx/0x5936515cc428ce9d66396d995b490f059da4152c182e1e8f42dc7ce6a38fd278arrow-up-right](https://basescan.org/tx/0x5936515cc428ce9d66396d995b490f059da4152c182e1e8f42dc7ce6a38fd278) * [https://basescan.org/tx/0x079a3f09c533fd61768cfb88d2fdf21effd67c4311819974ddc446b342b5540darrow-up-right](https://basescan.org/tx/0x079a3f09c533fd61768cfb88d2fdf21effd67c4311819974ddc446b342b5540d) Of these, **20 million** **ALB** are to be devoted to growing the project over time: fundraising from investors, marketing expenses as well as market making to grow liquidity of ALB and the DEX as a whole. The remaining **5 million** are to be distributed to the team with vesting contracts (currently yet to be deployed and distributed). Of the current farming emissions, 15% of the tokens minted are reserved to the team as an operating budget and reserve. Another 15% is reserved to the DAO and marketing initiatives that bring the protocol forward. To support operations, the team has announced that up to 600,000 ALB per month can be devoted to cover salaries for development and incentivization. More can be found here: [https://medium.com/@alienbase/strategic-roadmap-update-for-alien-base-c569f2bfcc46arrow-up-right](https://medium.com/@alienbase/strategic-roadmap-update-for-alien-base-c569f2bfcc46) **Value Distribution for ALB** The Alien Base platform was designed with fees in mind: the DAO can claim 50% of all trading fees on the base layer, and we expect similar distribution with future AMM and revenue-generating products (StableSwap, Concentrated Liquidity, Options and more). The vision for ALB is to provide incentives via fee redistribution in "real yield" delivered directly in ETH or other extremely liquid assets. This will be achieved through **esALB** tokenomics (escrowed ALB). In this model, holders will be able to lock their tokens to receive platform fees and extra anti-dilution rewards delivered in esALB. Platform incentives will be delivered in combined ALB + esALB rewards to disincentivize fully mercenary behavior. While the full transition to this model is expected to happen throughout Q4 2023, in the meantime stakers of ALB receive fees from the Area 51 platform, Alien Base's launchpad and Sub-DEX. As the protocol matures and is able to sustain increased liquidity for the token, more and more sources of revenue will be directed to tokenholders. It can be used for stablecoins, loosely pegged assets like cbETH, blue chips like ETH and BTC, or very volatile tokens like memecoins. Higher efficiency means that you need less money to support a particular level of trade slippage, and the tighter the ranges, the more efficient it becomes. Alien Base's V3 supports the following fee tiers: Fee Best for 0.02% Stablecoin pairs 0.075% Blue chips (ETH, BTC) 0.30% Mid-cap tokens 1% Small-cap tokens **Static Farming Ranges** Alien Base V3 is powered by a fork of Bunni, a liquidity management system developed by [Timeless Financearrow-up-right](https://timelessfi.com/) . Bunni is very simple: it enables to create vaults for a particular V3 range and fee tier, which creates an ERC-20 share token just like a regular V2 position. Farmable ranges are defined by past volatility and price history. The **Wide** ranges consider up to 2 years of previous price history to come up with safe ranges for another 1-2 years. **Narrow** vaults are more aggressive, and may go out of range in the next few weeks to months (depending on the asset). Finally, some assets like stablecoins or LSDs can have very concentrated ranges with nearly no impermanent loss. For example, on cbETH the range accounts for 2 years of staking yield. If a particular range is close to its limits, new ones will be deployed to enable a more balanced LP position. By focusing on user interface and utility, you will be able to enjoy the richest trading experience across all chains and all other liquidity sources. The idea is: when you trade on Alien Base, you use alien technology to trade everywhere. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/roadmap#id-2024-roadmap) 2024 Roadmap **Liquidity Aggregation and Indexing** The first stage of our vision is integrating liquidity and pairs from everywhere. From Alien Base, you will be able to see at a glance everything that is happening onchain to make quick and snappy decisions. This includes advanced charts, token analysis, holder analysis, tagging and much more. **Advanced trading tools** Alien Base traders must have full access to trading tools, even in DeFi. This means true limit orders, stop loss, TWAP and more. **Margin Trading & Project Quasar** One of the key components of healthy markets is the ability to go leverage long and short. This will be enabled by Quasar, our advanced lending platform. Project Quasar is a lending and options platform built on top of the Alien Base pools that allows traders to supply and borrow a much wider range of assets than seen on other platforms. This includes newly launched tokens for memecoins or smaller DeFi/NFT projects, as well as LP positions on V2 and V3. Over time, this will evolve into a full-on options platform powered by LP positions. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/roadmap#project-nebula) Project Nebula Project Nebula is Alien Base V2, an evolution of the AMM architecture to enable spot and derivatives trading in one system. It will support deep, permissionless and flexible liquidity on any kind of asset, from the most liquid to the freshly-launched gems. Compared to existing concentrated liquidity, it will be more effective and automated, maintaining the spirit of DeFi while making it simpler for humans to use. The vision for Nebula is to become the ultimate DeFi platform, uniting all key swapping primitives, spot, derivatives in one place. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/roadmap#future-work) Future Work The aliens have more ideas to bring to Earth, including things that aren't all about swapping. The roadmap for the far future is in flux for now, but it will not finish any time soon. Execution of a maker's orders require the involvement of “takers” -- i.e., spot traders such as direct traders on "Swap", arbitrageurs and DEX aggregators. The settings of each user's strategy, the strategy's liquidity, total network liquidity in the token pair, as well as network congestion affect the likelihood of execution in their strategy. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/order-execution#liquidity-and-ranges) Liquidity and Ranges Makers submit orders with their custom ranges defining the prices at which they’re willing to buy or sell their tokens. An order with a relatively wide range spreads liquidity across a larger number of prices, whereas an order with a relatively tight range concentrates liquidity within a smaller number of prices. Orders with more liquidity concentrated at a given price are more likely to get their orders executed when the market moves into that price. For example, consider two separate orders to buy ETH using USDC. Both orders are funded with the same amount of USDC tokens, but have different sized ranges. Jen's `Order A` offers to buy ETH in the range of 1800-1900 USDC. Tom's `Order B` offers to buy ETH in the range of 1800-2000 USDC. Jen's order slices the allocated budget across a tighter range, which means more tokens per each price point in the range. When the external market price of ETH reaches 1800, Jen's `Order A` is more likely to execute first, since it has a larger amount of liquidity concentrated at 1800 and can therefore offer a better price to the taker. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/order-execution#gas) Gas Gas cost is also factored into spot trading requests. A maker order may be offering a price that is desirable for takers, however the gas costs involved with filling the trade may make the trade undesirable, resulting in non-execution. The same holds true for arbitrageurs. Typically an arb takes trades (and executes the relevant maker order) if it is profitable for the arb to do so, and such profit measurements include the current cost of gas. [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/order-execution#id-100-fill-estimation) 100% Fill Estimation -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When creating a new strategy or editing an existing one, a value called "100% filled estimation" is exposed for ease of use. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/order-execution#goal-of-estimation) Goal of estimation The 100% filled estimation is an indication to makers on the amount of tokens the strategy will hold, should the entire budget be used. Once the order(s) details are provided, the buy or sell average price is identified and multiplied by the entire budget. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/order-execution#calculation) Calculation **Price aspect** 1. Limit - when entering a limit price, the average execution price is identical to the indicated price. 2. Good for farms and DeFi tokens, but it's usually considered a red flag for memecoins. * **Burnable token** with the ability to burn tokens. This is useful for when you have unique deflationary tokenomics. * **Mint/Burn** token combines minting and burning, which is useful for some unique farming tokenomics. * **Taxable Token** charges an additional fee on trading volume that is collected by the token. An innovative approach to automated trading strategies, akin to grid trading or using a DEX trading bot, recurring orders revolve around repeating "buy low, sell high" trades. For instance, you could set a recurring order to buy ETH from $1,900 to $1,800 and sell it from $2,100 to $2,200, with the ability to initially fund one or both orders. Once tokens are acquired in a buy order for example, the liquidity automatically rotates and funds the linked sell order, creating a self-perpetuating trading loop. This cycle operates continuously without needing manual intervention, allowing users to compound profits through a custom, self-sustaining trading strategy. ![](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F2071118767-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252FsTezfw4MnbiXPiGDX138%252Fuploads%252FSk9zktqIcSjf6eEtDYsc%252FScreenshot%25202024-09-18%2520at%252020.42.24.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3Db13bb7d9-3bd4-4de0-978f-1d0e99282537&width=768&dpr=3&quality=100&sign=add9db60&sv=2) Recurring Order Recurring Orders have: * **Rotating Liquidity** Tokens acquired in a buy order instantaneously fund the linked sell order and vice versa. Adjust orders on-chain, saving time and gas. * **No Trading or Gas Fees on Filled Orders** Makers pay no gas when a trade is executed. * **Irreversible** Once orders are filled, they will not be undone should the market retrace. * **Partial Fills** Orders can be partially filled and remain irreversible. * **Zero Slippage** The price you set is what you'll receive. * **MEV - Sandwich Attack Resistant** Due to it's irreversible nature. These tools are provided thanks to the deep integration of [Carbonarrow-up-right](https://www.carbondefi.xyz/) , an innovative DEX technology created by the Bancor team. Alienbase v1.2 intro video ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies#what-are-alien-bases-automated-strategies) What are Alien Base's automated strategies? The technology borrowed from Carbon consists in an orderbook-style DEX allowing users to perform novel trading strategies with all standard ERC20 tokens\* using a variety of order types: * [**Limit Order**](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/limit-orders) - A single disposable buy or sell order at a specific price * [**Range Order**](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/range-orders) - A single disposable buy or sell order within a custom price range * [**Recurring Orders**](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/recurring-orders) - buy and sell orders (limit or range) that are linked together, and perform similar to grid trading or a DEX trading bot. Newly acquired funds automatically rotate between them, creating an endless trading cycle without need for manual intervention By design, Carbon DeFi's limit, range, and recurring orders are all irreversible on execution, easily adjustable, resistant to MEV sandwich attacks, fully on-chain, non-custodial and can be deployed with any standard ERC20 token. There are two key market participants in the automated strategies: 1. “Makers” submit automated strategies composed of one or two on-chain limit or range orders. 2. “Takers” perform “spot” trades against live strategies directly, via DEX aggregators, or as arbitrageurs. Spot trading requests are handled by way of a decentralized SDK or using any custom software capable of processing the on-chain data. Makers are similar to liquidity providers in normal automated market makers (AMMs) in that their activities support the liquidity of the system in an on-chain, permissionless manner. However, they are notably different in that each maker can customize their own personalized spread or "fee tier" between their buy and sell ranges. This is in contrast to existing AMMs which force liquidity providers to adopt the fee of the AMM they're providing liquidity to. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies#what-are-the-main-benefits) What are the main benefits? The technology used for Alien Base's automated strategies differs from what common in AMMs in the following ways: 1. Adjustable Fee: Users who provide liquidity ("makers") can set a specific buy range and a specific sell range for their tokens, which establishes a custom fee/spread, instead of all makers having to adopt the fee that is prescribed by the AMM. 2. Rotating Liquidity: Liquidity is automatically moved between the maker's selected buy/sell ranges as orders are executed. 3. Irreversible Orders: User liquidity trades in one direction, irreversibly. 4. MEV Resistance: Spot trading is protected from MEV sandwich attacks. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies#adjustable-fee) Adjustable Fee Users who create automated strategies on Alien Base ("makers") are similar to liquidity providers in existing AMMs in that their activities supply liquidity for trading, and they collect fees from other users ("takers") who perform spot trades using their liquidity. However, the system is unique in that each individual maker can customize the fee they collect from trades - i.e., the difference between their selected buy and sell ranges. While legacy AMMs force their liquidity providers to adopt the fee of the AMM they're providing liquidity to, you can set your own personalized fee (or spread) by selecting the specific price(s) where you'd like to buy and sell your tokens. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies#rotating-liquidity) Rotating Liquidity When a user provides liquidity in existing on-chain liquidity protocols/AMMs, their position buys and sells tokens using a single pricing curve ("bonding curve"). On Alien Base's automated strategies, each user position consists of two bonding curves (or "orders") - one for buying and one for selling. When a user deposits a token pair, each token in the pair has one custom curve based on settings decided by the user. Once your position buys or sells at your desired price, your liquidity is automatically rotated to its paired curve, and vice versa. In the case of a single-use limit or range order, as the order is executed, liquidity is taken "off-curve" and shifted to an inactive paired order, where it sits idle until the maker withdraws their position. In the case of a recurring strategy, buy and sell orders trade in perpetuity, and liquidity continuously shifts between the paired orders as trades are executed, until the user chooses to stop the strategy. Such a strategy offers to buy in one price range and sell in a higher range akin to a "Grid Trading" or "Scalping" strategy. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies#unidirectional-irreversible-orders) Unidirectional, Irreversible Orders In normal concentrated liquidity like Alien Base V3, executed orders may be reversed when markets retrace. This is due the bidirectional nature of AMM liquidity: Once a buy order for one asset is traded against, a sell order for the other asset is placed at the same price. To avoid order reversal, users must manually monitor and withdraw their liquidity upon execution (or rely on external tooling to do so). In contrast, limit/range orders flow in a single direction and are therefore irreversible on execution. This removes the need for users to constantly monitor their orders and manually withdraw in time, or rely on a third-party to do so. Soon, there will be more combinations of tokens to create. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#can-i-collect-fees-on-other-dexes-than-alien-base) Can I collect fees on other DEXes than Alien Base? When you enable the fees feature, the pool is automatically created on AlienBase, but you still need to add liquidity to it. Due to how tax token contracts work, there will always need to be liquidity on Alien Base, but you can add other DEXs for collecting fees (as long as you didn't renounce ownership). #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#i-generated-my-token-now-what) I generated my Token, now what? You can now create a pool on AlienBase by going to https://app.alienbase.xyz/add and adding your token and ETH to pair it with. You can also add logo and social information on BaseScan (https://basescan.org) to make your token look more professional. You can also list your token on DexScreener, Coingecko, GeckoTerminal, and DexTools to increase visibility and trust with your community. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#how-do-i-create-a-pool-for-my-token) How do I create a pool for my token? You can make a pool on AlienBase by going to https://app.alienbase.xyz/add and adding your token and ETH to pair it with. For most cases, a full range V2 pool will be the best choice. You can set the initial price and the amount of liquidity you want to provide. After creating the pool, you will receive LP tokens that represent your share of the pool. To create additional trust, you can lock the LP or burn them by sending them to the dead address: 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#can-i-create-a-v3-pool-for-my-token) Can I create a V3 pool for my token? You can only create V3 pools with non-tax tokens, so just Simple, Mintable, and Burnable. V3 pools allow you to increase the fee that users pay up to 1%, set your own initial price, and liquidity within specific ranges. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#how-do-i-lock-my-lp-tokens) How do I lock my LP tokens? You can lock your LP token on https://gempad.app or other apps including Team Finance, Floki Locker, and many others. By locking your LP tokens, you can create trust with your community as it's a way to prevent rug pulls. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#how-do-i-make-a-farm-with-my-token) How do I make a farm with my token? You have to enable the Mintable feature and transfer ownership to the farming contract (MasterChef) of the DEX you want to launch the farm with. If you want to make a farm with your token on Alien Base, open a ticket on our Discord, and we will help you. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#how-do-i-burn-tokens) How do I burn tokens? You will need to enable the Burnable feature, which allows users to burn tokens by interacting with the contract on the explorer page. By calling the burn function, any user can burn their tokens, and they get removed from the circulating supply. Sending tokens to the burn address is also a way to burn tokens, but doesn't remove them from the circulating supply. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#where-do-the-fees-get-collected) Where do the fees get collected? Trading fees are either accumulated as liquidity or sent directly to the creator address you used to deploy the token. The liquidity is stored on the Token contract and cannot be withdrawn directly, but it increases the liquidity and attractiveness of the token. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#how-do-i-renounce-ownership) How do I renounce ownership? You can renounce ownership by calling the renounceOwnership function in the contract. This will remove the owner from the contract and make it impossible to change the owner address again. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#do-i-always-need-to-renounce-ownership) Do I always need to renounce ownership? The Simple and Burnable tokens have no ownership, so there's nothing to renounce. Mintable and Tax Tokens can be renounced, which is usually an additional sign of trust from the community, but it is best to do it when you know you won't need to change any of the parameters of the token. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#can-i-withdraw-the-fees-that-go-to-lp-on-the-tax-token) Can I withdraw the fees that go to LP on the Tax Token? If you didn't renounce ownership, you can change the fee percentages by calling the setBuyFees, setSellFees, and setFeeSplit functions in the contract. The fees are set in wei points, so a fee of 1% would be set as 10.000.000.000.000.000. Use the Basescan explorer to convert percentages to wei points. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#how-do-i-change-the-fee-recipient-address-on-the-tax-token) How do I change the fee recipient address on the Tax Token? You can change the recipient address by calling the setDevelopmentWallet function in the contract. This changes the address that receives the fees. It can be called by the creator of the contract or the existing recipient address. This is useful to change the fee recipient wallet, even if ownership is renounced. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects/token-generator/faq#how-do-i-change-the-owner-creator-address) How do I change the owner/creator address? Understanding these options will enable you to make informed trading decisions. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/limit-vs-range-prices#price-limit) Price Limit **Definition** A trading strategy where users offer to trade tokens at a fixed rate. **How it Works** * Users set a specific price at which they wish to trade their tokens. * This operates similarly to a traditional limit order. * The offered tokens are available for other market participants to exchange at the specified rate. **Example** A user offers to buy ETH at a constant price of 2,000 USDC per ETH. They provide a certain amount of USDC, which will be exchanged at this rate by other traders. When setting a strategy with a specific price limit, the public indication is similar to limit orders where you indicate that the number of tokens allocated for this action (buy/sell) are available for anyone (traders or market makers) to take at that specific price. It also means that ALL the allocated liquidity will be available at that exact price making it very concentrated at that price point and allowing trade with no slippage against it. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/limit-vs-range-prices#price-range) Price Range The Price Range option is advanced and requires a good understanding of its mechanics. **Definition** A trading strategy where users offer to trade tokens at a variable rate, determined by the remaining quantity of tokens they have. **How it Works** * Users set a price range within which they are willing to trade. * The starting and ending prices of this range are equivalent to the initial and terminal marginal exchange rates. * As market participants interact with this order, the observed exchange rate adjusts. The observed exchange rate is always equal to the geometric mean of the marginal exchange rates before, and after the swap is performed. **Example** A user offers to buy ETH at a price range starting at 2,000 USDC per ETH and ending at 1,000 USDC per ETH. As other market participants exchange their ETH for USDC, the marginal bidding price recedes from 2,000 USDC per ETH down to 1,000 USDC per ETH, until the position's USDC reserves are depleted. When setting a strategy with a price range, the allocated budget will be spread across ALL available price points in the bonding curve that is created between the two price points. Few things to note when using this option: 1. The "average price" for a range is actually the geometric mean, not to be confused with the arithmetic average: Copy Example: Arithmetic mean between 1800-2000 = 1900 Geometric mean between 1800-2000 = 1897.37 1. The amount of price points between 1 DAI value change is 10^18 as there will be a price point for every wei change in price. Copy Example: Between 1800-1801 1800.000000000000000000 1800.000000000000000001 1800.000000000000000002 1800.000000000000000003 ... 1800.999999999999999997 1800.999999999999999998 1800.999999999999999999 1801.000000000000000000 1. The budget per price point is sliced very thin. Copy Example: Splitting 100 ETH across 1 DAI price change will split 100/10^18 = ~0.0000000000000001 ETH per price point (this is estimation as due to the curve effect, the distribution is not equal across all price points) circle-info It is recommended to use the price limit option until you are familiar with the math and calculations of the price range option. Head on the [Swaparrow-up-right](https://app.alienbase.xyz/swap) page, select Limit. Select a pair, a price or a price range in which you would like the order to get filled ([more on range orders](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/range-orders) ) and create the strategy. When the price of the selected token reaches the predefined price or price range, the market will take the order if profitable ([more on order execution](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/order-execution) ) ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq#will-money-be-taken-from-my-wallet) Will money be taken from my wallet? Yes, Alien Base's automated strategies are true limit orders, i.e. creating a strategy is similar to providing liquidity on Alien Base v3 in a specific price range and fee tier. The difference is that the fee tier is decided by the buy low/sell high spread, and the order is irreversible. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq#how-do-i-modify-delete-my-order) How do I modify/delete my order? Head on the [Dashboadarrow-up-right](https://app.alienbase.xyz/liquidity) where you can see all your active automated strategies. For each active strategy, you can edit prices, deposit new funds, withdraw funds, delete. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq#will-the-strategy-delete-itself-after-filling-the-order) Will the strategy delete itself after filling the order? No. Limit orders on Alien Base are not just an execution of a pre-approved trade at a trigger price with an expiry. Once you create a limit order you created a full automated strategy, so it will stay active. Once you have an active strategy for a pair, you can modify it the way you want, even from normal limit order to recurring order. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq#will-i-automatically-receive-the-money-in-my-wallet) Will I automatically receive the money in my wallet? No. Each strategy is funded the same way LPs add liquidity on the dex. Even if the order is filled, the funds will stay in the "pool" until you withdraw them (or delete the strategy, which is the same thing) #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq#for-any-doubts-or-questions-open-a-ticket-on-discord) For any doubts or questions, open a ticket on [Discordarrow-up-right](https://discord.com/channels/1151515107587792896/1151602990860484618) [PreviousRecurring Orderschevron-left](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/recurring-orders) [NextOrder Executionchevron-right](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/order-execution) Last updated 1 year ago --- # Strategy ROI | Alien Base Automated Strategies are designed to allow traders to set a recurring buy high / sell low trading strategy on chain. Given this ability, it is possible to calculate each strategy's returns (ROI) using the information provided from strategy actions such as creation, balance changes and trades that interact with the available liquidity. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/strategy-roi#disclaimer) Disclaimer The aim is to calculate an ROI figure that is most intuitive to the user based on their performance using the automated strategies. We use a method that utilizes only the current prices of paired tokens, applied historically to every block, and evaluates the returns as a percentage of the liquidity provided. #### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/strategy-roi#calculating-roi) Calculating ROI In order to calculate the strategy ROI, we use the following rules: 1. Only trade events affect the calculation. This means that add/remove liquidity actions will not cause the ROI value to change. 2. We use "sub-strategies" to calculate strategy ROI. Sub-strategies are the times between each balance changing action (add/remove liquidity). 3. The strategy ROI is the sum of all the sub-strategy returns (USD) divided by the total liquidity amount deposited (evaluated in USD), provided that the liquidity has been traded with. 4. We use the current USD price of the tokens to calculate "sub-strategy" returns using the historical token amounts against the current USD price. In order to calculate the ROI, we use this process: 1. Calculate the token gains for every sub-strategy 2. Multiple the token amounts with their current market price to USD 3. Sum the gains USD value and divide it by the strategy value Copy Example: Start 1 ETH and 1 WBTC 1 ETH @ $2,000 USD = $2,000 # uses the current price today 1 WBTC @ $40,000 USD = $40,000 # uses the current price today Total value of portfolio is $42,000 The user's order is partially traded against, converting their ETH for WBTC. End 0.5 ETH and 1.05 WBTC 0.5 ETH @ $2,000 USD = $1,000 # uses the current price today 1.05 WBTC @ $40,000 USD = $42,000 # uses the current price today Total value of portfolio is $43,000 Returns: $43,000 - $42,000 = $1,000 ROI: returns / value deposited = 1,000/42,000 = 2.38% [PreviousLimit vs Range Priceschevron-left](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/limit-vs-range-prices) [NextOrder Dynamicschevron-right](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/trading-tools/limit-orders-and-automated-strategies/faq/order-dynamics) Last updated 1 year ago --- # Epsilon | Alien Base Epsilon is Alien Base's _meta-aggregator_ system: the aggregator of aggregators. These are the tokens you can currently create: * **Simple token** with no extra features. Easy and sturdy, good for memecoins or other simple tokenomics. * **Mintable token** with the ability to mint new tokens starting from an initial supply. It's useful for gradually increasing the liquidity on the token and for funding future marketing campaigns. Many successful memecoins use this template for their projects. ### [hashtag](https://docs.alienbase.xyz/tools-for-projects#contracts) Contracts The token generator uses factories to generate template tokens.
